It is the "Source" of the area s natural force and the power behind Begawan s aptly named spa.

Each residence provides these facilities with unparalleled elegance through unique interior designs that combine Asian and European influences. Beautiful imported fixtures, Indonesian artifacts, hand-made furniture, and exquisite tapestries and carvings lend to Begawan s spirit. Personal touches can be found in every corner, delighting the senses and offering glimpses into the culture of the area.

The sacred spring of Toya Mampeh, located about three-quarters of the way down the mountainside in the Water Gardens, is linked with the spiritual life of Pura Dalem, the Temple of the Ancestors, in the village of Bayad. It is believed that if the spring is unclear, the cause is some form of spiritual pollution and rites must be held to cleanse both the temple and the spring.

The Source also cleanses both body and soul, exploring the traditional beauty and healing rituals of Bali and other Indonesian islands in harmony with the surrounding environment. The Source is no ordinary Western-style spa; this is immediately apparent in the services it provides and the methodology behind them. Guest can enjoy Balinese massage with aromatic oils from the island, or exotic body treatments such as Javanese Lulur and Balinese Spice.

The spa menu further appeals to the senses with a wide selection of baths and wraps created from volcanic clays, sea salts, flowers and indigenous plants. All body work and massages garden bales near the waterfall. Experienced staff are on hand to pamper guests thoroughly, but the focus remains on simplicity, balance and a return to nature.
